Teacher Cards

Teacher Cards give school teachers special access to our print and digital collections for use in the classroom. Public, private and homeschool teachers are eligible for the cards, which are separate from an individual's personal library account.

Benefits Include:

  • Request and check out up to 200 books at once
     
  • The ability to request a collection of books curated by Mead staff focused on a specific topic or theme
     
  • Access to online resources including research databases and online classes

Card applications are available from any service desk at the library, or download below. Please bring a photo ID along with a school-issued ID when submitting a completed application. Homeschool teachers can submit a form from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for the current school year.

Institution Cards

Institution Cards give assisted living facilities, nursing/group homes, daycares and other organizations special access to our print and digital collections.

Benefits Include:

  • Curate a rotating, browsable collections of books, movies, magazines and music at your facility
     
  • Access online resources for staff, residents and students, including ebooks, audiobooks, movie/music streaming, training and more
     
  • Take a field trip to the library and check out materials using a single card
     
  • Gain access to our Home Delivery service for clients who have mobility issues
     
  • Organizations can pay for lost and damaged items on a monthly or quarterly basis without losing access to borrowing privileges

Teacher Card FAQs

To be eligible for a Teacher Card, teachers must be employed at a school (public or private) within the City of Sheboygan or in surrounding communities that do not have a local library.

Homeschool teachers must reside within the City of Sheboygan or in surrounding communities without a local library.

Teachers can check out 200 items at once.

Teachers are responsible for any lost or damaged items. Bills are sent to the teacher.

 We do not charge late fees.

Teachers will be asked to  update contact information and provide proof of  their educator status (such as a staff ID badge) on an annual basis. Teacher Cards can only be used by the teacher named on the account.

Institution Card FAQs

Institutions can check out 300 items out total, with the following limits by item type:

100 Books, 2 Kits, 50 Magazines, 50 music CDs, 50 Audiobooks, 50 DVDs

Bills are sent to the primary user and can be paid monthly or quarterly.

There is a $200 lost/damaged fine limit, and the card can continue to be used until that limit is reached.

We do not charge late fees.

Cards are held at the 1st floor Circulation Desk and authorized users must show a photo ID when checking items out at the library.
