Stories, Songs, and Stretches!® envisions an entire generation of mindful kids who are school-ready in body, heart, and mind.   The program is held outdoors on The City Green, the park between the Library and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.

This storytime program, most appropriate for ages 3-5+, engages your child in embodied play that encourages the development of early literacy, social-emotional, executive functioning, and physical literacy skills by using yoga shapes to move through stories and songs.  Adult participation in the program is highly encouraged.

*This is not a yoga class for children, rather we use yoga shapes to inspire movement.  You do not need to have any prior experience or knowledge of yoga to participate; you don't even need to be flexible.  Our goal is to have fun and inspire learning through play.  You are your child's first teacher and they will model your behavior; your participation will ensure an engaging and meaningful experience.

Yoga mats will be provided for both adult and child, but you are welcome to bring your own.  Please register each child individually and also note on the registration form if you will be bringing your own yoga mats. If you are comfortable on the grass, you do not need to use a mat.

We are pleased to partner with the Play is Healing program, a collaborative initiative of community partners to promote a mindful reset and recess for the mind, body, and spirit with a focus on play as a powerful agent.  Check out other events being offered by our partners, Above and Beyond Children's Museum, Mental Health America, The Sheboygan Rec Department, and the YMCA.  https://mhasheboygan.org/play-is-healing

Pre-registration is required.

There is no alternate location in case of inclement weather.
