Do you love the work of William Shakespeare? Have you ever felt challenged by his language or themes? Want to try to explore something new? Then join us for our pilot meeting of the Mead Shakespeare Club! Once a month, our club will meet to discuss, explore, and read through most of one of the Immortal Bard’s best-known works. Led by Seven Ages Theatricals’ Artistic Director Tom Berger, each month will begin with a brief discussion of the play and its history, a read-through of the major moments of the text, ending with a satisfying conversation on what we discovered together along the way and what new questions have arisen to explore further.
We will have copies of the text ready to pick up at Mead's first floor desk in advance of meetings, or just come in and read cold. You can even just come to listen! We can also provide you with a digital copy of the text to read from a mobile device or tablet if that’s more convenient for you. Otherwise, just bring your mind, your voice, and your questions as we begin our exploration of one of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies: Romeo and Juliet!
