Temporary Changes to Outdoor Book Drop & 24/7 Holds Pickup

The outdoor book returns will closed for about 2 weeks starting Wednesday, Nov. 5, due to roof work at the library. In the meantime, please use the temporary outdoor book drop, which is set up along the walkway leading to the building.*

The 24/7 Holds Pickup will remain open but users will have to park in the lot and walk to the pickup kiosk.

*Please note that the temporary book drop will be unavailable from 5 p.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m., Monday.

Event Details

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
• Students in grades 3 through 12.


HOW DOES IT WORK?
• Write a scary story of 800 words or less.
• The story must be your own creation, and if possible, typed.
Email your story with your name, grade and school by 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10 to alison.loewen@meadpl.org
• Stories will be judged on originality, creativity and quality of writing. Entries will not be returned.


YOU MUST USE ONE OF THESE PHRASES TO BEGIN OR END YOUR STORY:
• It was the one thing I most dreaded seeing, right in front of me...
• The knocking at the door was too loud, too erratic...
• The library was especially cold that evening...
• The look in the librarian’s eyes was one I will never forget...
• I knew I shouldn’t have checked that book out from the library...


The winners will receive prizes and have their stories published in The Sheboygan Press the week leading up to Halloween.
