Event Details

Join us in celebration of our community-created felt installation, "Community. Each one of us unique, swimming together", with Maker-in-Residence, Kati Fritz-Jung.

Please join us on December 4, 2024, 4:30 pm-7 pm, in the Imaginarium Makerspace on the 2nd floor of the library. We will have refreshments and a meet-and-greet with Kati and a dedication at 5:30pm. Everyone is invited, so please bring your family and friends to the celebration.

Kati Fritz-Jung is a fashion designer whose work is a testament to the belief that we are all interconnected, yet distinct individuals. Her design philosophy is rooted in the idea that our uniqueness is like words in a poem—individual, yet harmonious when woven together. Using nuno felting techniques, incorporating wool, silk, and an array of embellishments is a sensory journey, and she is inviting the Sheboygan community to join her in the creation of the water-themed felt installation at the library.

Kati has generously sponsored this residency and has been working on this installation with the following community partners in addition to Mead Library: Art & Good Company, Boys and Girls Club, MAS Arts Outreach, and RCS Empowers. With much appreciation to Tommy Shimenetto for his donation of the installation's surfboard.
