Program Description

Event Details

Lawns are toxic to the environment. Turf is a non-native monoculture with no biodiversity. Grass requires lots of watering, fertilizing, and pesticides. Grass also requires gasoline for the lawnmower and pollutes the environment. Lawns are starving out pollinators, who used to rely on natural prairie grasses, flowers and forests. Learn about grass alternatives like native plants, ground covers, and yardens. Yardens have food, fruits, veggies, grains, nuts…as many gardens as possible with as little grass as possible!
