Join Alex Belardo Kostiw for a hands-on workshop about finding inspiration in nature's details. What do we notice, and where could it lead us? Alex will share how their comics take root in observations of nature and wander into the imagination. Then together we will make marks and craft zines that reflect on non-human beings and the spaces we share.

Alex tells stories about everyday encounters, human connections across time and space, and hidden parts and possibilities of the self. Their work folds poetic elements into visual structures of comics and conceptually driven forms. It invites intuitive reading and interpretation—even as it resists total unravelling. Alex is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

***Registration is required for this event. Event is geared for ages 13+.
