Attorney Natasha Torry of Legal Action of Wisconsin, Inc. will offer free 20 min consultations on civil legal matters* during "Lawyer in the Library" sessions.


Lawyer in the Library takes place on the third Wednesday of the month from 12pm – 2pm (January-March 2023)


Complete the registration form below; you will receive a confirmation message which will include your assigned 20 minute time slot; a limited number of waitlist registrations will be accepted, so if you are unable to attend your assigned session, please be sure to contact the library to cancel.

Registration for the following month's session will open once the current month's session is complete. 

Civil Legal Matters*

Legal Action of Wisconsin, Inc. is the state’s largest non-profit law firm providing free civil legal services to low-income Wisconsinites, primarily within the following areas of law:

  • Consumer Issues:  bankruptcy, debt collection, garnishments
  • Employment Barriers: discrimination, expungement of criminal records
  • Family law: custody, divorce, child support, restraining orders
  • Housing: public housing, evictions, foreclosure, landlord-tenant issues
  • Public Benefits: FoodShare, Social Security, Disability Income, BadgerCare and Medicare assistance

If your civil legal matter is not on the list above Legal Action of Wisconsin can still meet with you to discuss your legal matter and refer you to other agencies when appropriate;
