Program Description

Event Details

This class will introduce participants to the dark, bold, brooding, dramatic, and moody Gothic gardens popular in the Victorian era. Participants will learn about the history of Gothic Gardening. Since Victorians created these gardens in part to cope with frequent death and loss, we will cover gardening for memorializing our loved ones, as well as grief and loss.  Participants will learn all about the black flowers and other unique, striking, and bold plants featured in gothic gardens. We will also cover gothic gardening design and gothic garden elements, and participants will design their own gothic garden in class.
