Those joining classes in-person need to register as well as provide their own ukulele. Look to see if a circulating ukulele is available for checkout from Mead Library HERE and HERE

Classes are appropriate for all experience levels, including the absolute beginner.

Here's the Summer lineup:

June 4th: Intro to Hammer-Ons & Pull-Offs for Uke; Learn the techniques of how to hammer on and pull off. This class is for anyone who needs more practice or wants to learn how to add these techniques to their beginning melody playing.

June 11th: Learn to Play the Recorder for the Complete Beginner; Learn one of the easiest instruments there is, the recorder! Bring your own recorder and let Lil' Rev show you how to play a simple melody, fingering positions, breath control and more.

July 2nd: Blues Turnaround for Beginners; Study the art of playing a blues turnaround, made easy, along with some simple 12 and 8 bar tunes.

July 9th: Harmonica for the Complete Beginner (6-7:30; Rocca Room on Mead's first floor); Bring your own 10 hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C or buy one from Rev. Learn all the basics from holding, air, lip position, simple songs and scales and more!

August 27th: Learn Your First Ukulele Chord Solo “Freight Train”; Learn a simple chord solo and a classic folk song, Elizabeth Cotton's beautiful tune, Freight Train, arranged for ukulele in a simple 1st position arrangement.

August 29th: The 4-3-2-1 Arpeggio Sequence; Exercises, songs and practice learning how to finger pick, slowly and with a very basic common pattern.
