Book to Art Club

Primary tabs

Program Type: Book Club, Craft
Age: Adult, Teen

Read. Talk. Make.
Open to Teens and Adults

The Book to Art Club combines reading, discussion, and art-making.

Participants will read the selected book, then create projects inspired by the reading during the discussion to further engage with the literature.  The process of making is more important than the final product!

Book club book copies may be picked up at Mead Public Library's 1st floor desk one month before the discussion.  Art supplies will be provided, but participants may bring their own materials.  Follow us on GoodreadsPinterest!, and Facebook.  See what is happening with other Book to Art Clubs around the world on The Book to Art Club Blog.  Mead discussion groups are free, funded by the Friends of the Library.  The Book to Art Club was created by the Library as Incubator Project.

Celebrate the Book to Art Club's five-year anniversary as we discuss this beautiful epistolary trilogy and are treated to a special exhibit tour and project led by John Michael Kohler Arts Center staff.

"Griffin and Sabine Trilogy" by Nick Bantock
Project Theme: Postcards, Letter, and Stamps

The Griffin and Sabine Trilogy is a series of bestselling epistolary novels written by Nick Bantock.  The first three novels in the series, Griffin and SabineSabine's Notebook and The Golden Mean, form the original Griffin and Sabine Trilogy.  Each story is told through a series of letters and postcards between the two main characters, Griffin Moss and Sabine Strohem.  Every page features a facsimile of a postcard or a letter actually enclosed in an envelope.
