CLEANER

Part-time

$10.00-$11.73/hr

20 hrs/wk; Monday-Thursday 7-11pm and alternating Fridays 5-9pm & Saturdays 4-8pm

Mead Public Library is looking for a team-oriented person to fill a part-time cleaning position.  Under general supervision, this position will assist in making the library a welcoming environment for citizens by cleaning, modifying spaces, moving furniture and assisting staff and members of the public as needed.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Wash, dust, vacuum and clean Library facility and furniture
  • Clean restrooms and maintain supplies
  • Maintain interior and exterior plants, shrubbery and holiday decorations
  • Dispose of trash and recycle applicable materials
  • Set up meeting rooms for programs and activities
  • Assist in snow removal
  • Receive and retrieve Library materials and supplies
  • Other related work as assigned by supervisor

LIBRARY PAGE (16-20 hours, evenings and some weekends)

Requires good eyesight and physical ability. Applications available and accepted at the library's first floor Customer Service Desk during regular business hours. Application form also available online. Please attach a sheet indicating ALL hours you are available to work during the summer, and also during the school year.

Bookshelver—Support Services
Wage: $8 to $11.52 per hour (These positions are scheduled up to an average of 36 hours per two-week pay period. Generally, no direct customer service work.)

Start date:
To be determined after interviews, which are only conducted if positions are available. Not all applicants will be interviewed. Applications are accepted at all times, although there may not be any positions open when you apply. All applications are kept on file for six months.

Responsibilities:
-Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
-Reshelving adult and juvenile books, magazines, newspapers, and audio/visual materials;
-Sorting returned materials;
-Checking in returned materials;
-Putting carts of returned materials in order for reshelving;
-Shelf reading;
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
-Good eyesight and physical ability;
-Flexible/able to work a variety of hours;
-Works well with a group, as well as;
-Able to work independently, without direct supervision;
-Ability to understand the library shelving system;
-Speed and accuracy are important.

Schedules:
Work schedules vary, and include but are not limited to nights, weekends, and school holidays (especially Christmas and spring breaks). Please note ALL hours you are available to work.
