If you are a student entering grades 6-12 next fall, you are invited to join the ACUITY Cool Picks Summer Reading Program @ Mead Public Library. It’s 100 percent free! All you need to do is read. The more you read, the more chances you’ll have to win one of our great prizes.
Click here to register from home or while at Mead. You must have a library card to join. Sign up or renew your card at any service desk @ the library. The first 75 teens to sign up after school @ the library on Tuesday, May 26, will get a bag of goodies and a $10 gift certificate! Last day to join is Aug. 10.
Once you have read a book, log on to your Cool Picks page and fill out a report form with a few sentences about the book. It’s that simple. Every report you turn in gets your name put into the prize drawing of your choice. Prizes include gift cards, books, DVDs, cameras, and much more! Last day to turn in reports is Aug. 17.
Want a chance to win one of our Grand Prizes? For every five reports you turn in, your name is entered to win the Grand Prize you selected at registration. Turn in 50 books over the course of the summer to have your named entered 10 times! Grand Prizes include an Xbox One, a PS4, a brand new bike, a Kindle Fire HD, an LCD HDTV, and an iPod Touch.
Join us at ACUITY headquarters for a kick-off carnival on Tuesday, June 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bring your library card and join ACUITY Cool Picks, play giant versions of some of your favorite games or try the Wii on the big screen, and learn some awesome new board games with The GameBoard. Enjoy free soda, walking tacos, and ice cream. Enter a drawing to take home one of 20 gift cards or our grand prize, an iPod nano! Carnival volunteers are needed! Talk to Matt in the Maas Teen Learning Center for more info.
Looking for volunteer hours for a service organization at school or for a scholarship? Look no further than Mead Public Library. We need your help all summer to keep our shelves in order.
